Project – Hewing Hotel
Greiner Construction was hired by Aparium to provide pre-construction and construction services for the historic renovation of a warehouse in downtown Minneapolis.
The luxury boutique hospitality project consists of working closely with the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) to preserve the historic windows, structural timber framing and exterior masonry of the building. Greiner added subsurface micro piles throughout, additional structural reinforcements on floors 4-6 and the rooftop patio.
Located on the zero lot line, the 124 room development includes a spa/pool, bar and sauna on the rooftop and the full service Tullibee restaurant with butcher room and hearth oven, wine cellar, two private dining rooms, fireside lounge, library, board room, junior ballroom and dance floor on the main level. Lower level features a fitness center and massage parlor. The guest rooms feature refurbished exposed wood ceilings and the preservation of the brick exterior.
One of the very unique aspects of this project is the domestic water Integrated Piping System – one of the first to be installed in the Twin Cities.
