Josh Helgesen, General Superintendent/Field Operations Manager, Named Principal and Owner

Greiner Construction is proud to announce that Josh Helgesen, general superintendent/field operations manager, has been named principal and owner. Helgesen, who started his career with Greiner as a carpenter apprentice in 2001, joins the ownership group of President Hans Siefker and Principals Spencer Finseth, Tom Halloran and Tom Hochstaetter.

“Josh is bold, authentic and hardworking and he makes us all better at what we do,” says Siefker. “Guided by the motto, “Strength from the Inside Out,” our founder, Wolfgang Greiner, built Greiner Construction from the ground floor up as an employee-driven, customer-focused construction company. Josh’s promotion reflects our commitment to growing the Greiner team from within and elevating top-performing individuals who share our core values.”

“I’m proud to have been part of the Greiner team for more than 20 years,” says Helgesen. “Looking back on September 11, 2001, I was sitting on the couch watching the events at the World Trade Center unfold when I got a call from my fiancé Jill. She’d found a job opportunity for me as a carpenter in Minneapolis. Following my passion for construction, I set up an interview, made my way downtown and the rest is history. Thanks to Hans and the other principals who mentored and guided me, I found my niche and I’m excited about the opportunity to help lead this great company into the future.”

As General Superintendent/Field Operations Manager, Helgesen leads complex, high-profile projects across the Twin Cities.  Several of his notable partnerships include office space for the Local Organizing Committee for the 2019 NCAATM Men’s Final FourTM, along with numerous Industrial and office projects for brands such as Hyde Development, Nordic Ware, Code42, Jamf, Wells Fargo, and many others.

“Josh Helgesen represents the Greiner difference,” says Kate Mortenson, founder and CEO, iPondr, and former CEO, Minneapolis Final Four Organizing Committee. “As a woman in business, I value Josh’s commitment to building collegial, collaborative relationships. He keeps very high standards, raising the bar for everyone around him. Josh has great energy, impeccable execution, professionalism, and problem-solving skills, all of which complement the positive workplace culture we create in our business.”

“Having worked with Josh Helgesen and the Greiner team on multiple projects key to Hyde’s development initiatives, I can attest that the secret to Greiner’s success is their people,” says Paul Hyde, owner, Hyde Development. “At every level of the company from senior leadership to the expert craftspeople, Greiner employees are genuine, hardworking and collaborative. I’m proud to call Greiner my partner.”
